Robert Lund Grebe son of the late W James and Elaine Grebe. Bob was born on December 28th 1953 and passed away on August 6, 2022 after a brave battle in the ICU unit at Columbia St. Mary Hospital. Preceded in death by his brother Jim. He is survived by his loving sister Kathy Kohnke and devoted Brother-in-law Bucky Kohnke. Robert, known affectionately as Uncle Bob to Jason (Brett) Kohnke, Melissa (Jim) Hills, Ryan Kohnke, Eric (Corey) Kohnke, Brandon (Kira) Grebe, Garret (Michelle) Grebe, and Colton (Amy) Grebe. He also leaves behind 10 great nieces and nephews, his cousins Lorrene Gaynor, John Plotkin, Jordan (Carla) Plotkin, Patty Plotkin, and many friends. Bob was a former officer and stock holder of Grebe's Bakery Inc. For many years you could find him working summers along with his family managing the Miller Oasis at Summerfest and the Miller Genuine Draft area at the Wisconsin State Fair as subcontractors. Bob will be remembered most for his love of his family. His stories of childhood memories with his parents, brother, sister, and cousins always brought a smile to his face. His sense of humor and booming laugh could put a smile on the face of anyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who shared a joke. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with friends (especially those at "The Gas Light West"). Bob was also compassionate and kind to all dogs, especially his beloved basset hounds and dogs in need of rescue. He gave everything he could to his dogs and loved them unconditionally (even when one tripped him and broke his hip). The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Columbia St. Mary's 4th floor ICU Unit. We would especially like to thank Dr. Zane for his medical expertise and communication with the family, and the knowledge and compassion of Patty Nelson from palliative care. Thank you to Dr. Mark Clemence Bob's personal physician and friend for many years. Memorial Service will be held at Bevsek-Verbick Funeral home 10210 W. Lincoln Ave. West Allis, WI on Monday August 22, 2022. Visitation at 5 PM until time of service at 6PM. Bob traded his ties for tee shirts many years ago so please dress casually for his memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Elmbrook Humane Society or Wisconsin Basset Hound Rescue would appreciated.
