Campbell ~ Helen Maxine Shepard, 86 of Campbell, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Bethany at Silver Lake in Everett, Washington.


Helen, daughter of John Otis and Tiny Hattie Smith O'Neal, was born on Wednesday, February 23, 1938 in Campbell, Missouri.

She was a first a retired seamstress and next a retired school cook having worked for the Twin Rivers School and was a long time member of the Beechwell Baptist Church in Campbell, Missouri.


On October 25, 1969 in Campbell, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bobby Ray Shepard. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2006.


Her survivors include daughters, Sandra Beckham of Lake Stevens, Washington, Patsy Dorrough of Greensboro, North Carolina, Debbie Nelson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandchildren, Bobby Ray Shephard, Terry Dale Alford, Chandra Boyd, Erica Roberts, Jessica Grisby, and Bethany Tibbs; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Haline Vincent of St. Louis, Glenda Greenwood of Campbell and Judy Pruett of Dexter.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alvie O'Neal, James O'Neal, Jerry O'Neal and sister, Betty Bishop.


Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell, with funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Gary Long officiating. Burial following at Elder Cemetery in Campbell.


Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell are in charge of the arrangements.
