Nov. 1 - Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Pearl Valley Baptist church near Oma for Mrs. Jim Farmer, 60, ; esteemed resident of the Oma community for many years, whose death at the family home followed a long illness. Her pastor, the Rev. T W. Green, conducted the services with the Rev. M. P. Jones of Hazlehurst assisting. Interment was made in the Lowe cemetery near Oma. .
Mrs. Farmer, who had spent her life in Lawrence county, was before her marriage Miss Lillian Hoggatt. She was a member of the Pearl Valley Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband, Jim Farmer of Oma; a daughter, Mrs. Robert James of Decatur; a son, Ottis Farmer of Rockport and two sisters. Mrs. O. B Watts and Mrs. Ed Harrison of Oma. Several half-sisters also survive with nieces and nephews. i .
