Annie Mae Anderson Adams was born Thursday, February 14, 1924 to George Wesley Anderson and Rena Anderson in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS.

Annie attended and graduated from Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Unity Springs Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS where she began her Christian walk. She was faithful to the Word of God until her death. She worked as a Head Start Teacher at Little Rock Head Start Center in DeKalb, MS for many years. Later on in life, she was a babysitter to many children.

Annie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandmother. She was also a good cook, a great listener, a dear sweet friend, a great neighbor, and was known to many people as Gramma and Miss Annie.

On Friday, July 7, 1950, she married John Lee Adams, the son of Harold Adams and Margaret Clark Adams, who was also a native of Kemper County, MS. Three children, all daughters, were born to their union.

Annie departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her home. She lived to be 95 years, 1 month, and 10 days young. That is a blessing. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Adams; daughter, Margaret Joanne Adams; father, George Wesley Anderson; mother, Rena Anderson; five siblings—four brothers, Leslie Anderson, Willie James Anderson, William Dee Anderson, and John Richard Anderson; and one sister, Lillie Ruth Anderson.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters—Doris Adams Watson (Robert) of Meridian, MS, and Sarah Adams of Philadelphia, MS; a granddaughter, Monica Adams Horne (Joey) of Philadelphia, MS; a great granddaughter, Taniyah Horne of Philadelphia, MS; one brother, Samuel Anderson (Linda) of Meridian, MS; two special God children, Camysha Westbrook Vivians (Eddie) of Atlanta, GA, and Laprysha Griffin Lewis (Mondrell) of Philadelphia, MS.
