ROGERSVILLE — James H. Bible, 70, 104 Brewer St., died at 1:30 a.m. Friday (Nov.12, 1999) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was retired from Rogersville Motor Co. after 41 years of service. He was the owner of the local Bible's Mechanic Shop on Washington Street.
He was preceded in death by his parents, N.C. [Newton Crawford] and Pearl Bible; and a brother, Lloyd Bible.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 53 years, Kathryn Bible; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Rick Russell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Libby Bible and Randy and Mary Bible, all of Rogersville; five grandchildren, Randy Bible Jr., Chad and Nicholas Russell, Rogersville, Tina Black and Tracy Bible, Morristown; three stepgrandsons, Mike Miller, Jim Miller and Jimmy Hall, all of Rogersville; six great-grandchildren; one niece, Loretta Walland; and one nephew, Anson Bible, Indianapolis, Ind.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Edward Roy Cuthrell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Tieke Cemetery.
