William "Bill" Darragh, Jr of Easton, MD passed away peacefully on Friday March 22nd at this home in Easton with his loving wife Myrna by his side. He had just celebrated his 95th birthday.


Bill was born in Middletown, OH on February 20th, 1929, to William Darragh, Sr., and Sarah Ruth Darragh. Upon high school graduation in Connecticut, he joined the army. He was stationed in Utsunomiya, Japan in 1946 as a school prefect. Upon returning, Bill attended SMU and University of Georgia. He obtained his MBA at Loyola of Baltimore in 1973.


A driven and successful individual, Bill was the CFO for American General Corporation prior to starting a private consulting firm. He consulted for companies all over the United States and internationally until his retirement in 1994. He was well known and respected by his colleagues and known for his expertise in the insurance industry.


Bill and his wife moved to Easton in 1988. Active and well-known members of the Talbot Country Club, Bill and Myrna enjoyed golf, cruising in the boat on the Miles River and all the social events in Easton. Bill had many regular golf groups and was the coordinator and game master for many of the groups. Bill and Myrna enjoyed hosting parties. There are many that remember the Superbowl, New Years Eve and Golf Group parties at the house at Hope Circle.


Bill enjoyed quiet work as well, immersing himself in building furniture and working around the house. His greatest sense of pride was completing a piece and delighting someone with a beautiful piece of furniture.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years. He is predeceased by one daughter, Barbara. He is survived by 3 sons and one daughter. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.


A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Oxford, MD at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 6th followed by a reception at Talbot Country Club. Flowers may be sent to Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton.
