Karon was born in Dixon, Illinois on December 22, 1941, to Lester H. & Dorothaline B. (Crow) Berry. She was baptized at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Karon graduated from Aledo High School in 1960 and then the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa. She then went to work for Gamble-Skogmo Corporation in Monmouth, IL. On November 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gary Lane Anderson at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo. She considered him her best friend and soul mate. Karon then worked with her husband in their family business, Anderson Motor Co. In later years she was the primary care giver for her son Tye who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis.
Karon enjoyed golf, genealogy, cards and following the investment markets. She also loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes (Go Hawks!). She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo, Aledo Chapter H of the PEO Sisterhood, Oakview Country Club, and the Aledo Investment Club. Karon always enjoyed visits from clergy and other church members over the years. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren grow up.
Karon is survived by her brother; Ronald (Toni) Berry of Chelan, WA, sister-in-law; Barbara (John) Clifford of Greenwood Village, CO, Son; Jason (Kim) Anderson of Independence, KY, Daughter; Susan (Mark) Sewald of Aurora, CO; Grandchildren: Travis (Jasmine) Anderson of Greenfield, WI, Jeanine (Carl) Zelinski-Sauter of Eau Claire, WI and Nicole (Taylor) Curran of Wausau, WI; step-grandchildren: Brian Sewald of Denver, CO and Danielle Sewald of Broomfield, CO. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Genesis Hospitals in Aledo and Davenport; Brenda Howard; Stephanie McIntosh, RN; and Dr. Dennis Palmer and staff of Aledo for the outstanding care they provided for our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
