[The Genealogy of the Descendants of Edward Colburn/Coburn by Geo. A. Gordon and Silas R. Coburn, Lowell, MA, 1913, p60, is in error; Benjamin Colburn (1747-1779) is not the Benjamin Coburn born at Dudley, MA, September 25th 1749 as stated. Although his stated death date is correct, as is his stated wife's name, marriage date, place and their children's names and dates. He also, therefore, was not the son of Benjamin.]

Son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Colburn of Dedham, MA.

Brother of Nathaniel Colburn (1742-1799) and Nathan Colburn (1744-1804) both of Dedham, MA.

Husband of Eunice Dix (1747-1818) whom he married March 22nd 1774 at Sturbridge, MA.

At Camp 1778 Private Benjamin Colburn signed his name on the June & July Pay Roll confirming his receipt of pay under Capt. David Batchellor in the Massachusetts Militia in Service of the United States Commanded by Col. Ezra Wood.
