The mother of Charles was Olive D., possibly dau. of Elkanah & Mary (Wilson) WESTON, b. 28 Jul 1819, d. 4 Jun 1850 or 1853

Charles enlisted as a Pvt on 10 Sep 1862 from Wilton ME in Co. B, 28th ME Regiment and was discharged 30 Jul 1863 in New Orleans LA in order that he might reenlist which he did there on 17 Aug 1863 in Co. D, Texas Calvary from which he was discharged 31 Oct 1865. Before the Civil War Charles was a farmer, and lived in Wilton ME. After serving in the war, he remained in the West for 35 years and then returned to live in Auburn ME where he was living at the time of the 1928 Genealogy of the Burbank Family et. al.  At the time of his second marriage his occupation was a blacksmith. He was a resident at the Togus Veterans Home several times. He was admitted 8 Jun 1902 and discharged 19 Sep 1905. He was admitted again 8 May 1912 and discharged 11 Nov 1912. A column for rate of pension beside the various admissions has $8, 10, and 12.
