Anna Rebecca "Annie" Smith died in the flu epidemic of 1919 and shares the grave of her mother, Mary A. Lumpkins Smith, and her brother, Hoyt Smith, both of whom died in the same epidemic. Annie was 2 years and about 8 months at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Wiley Edward "Ed" and Mary Caldona Lumpkins Smith.

Annie was the maternal granddaughter of James Frank and Anna Lou "Annie" Grimes Lumpkins and the paternal granddaughter of Daniel Shadrack and Rebecca Jane Newton Smith.

Annie, the baby daughter of Ed Smith, of Pleasant Point, died of influenza, on March 14, aged 2 years, 8 months and 14 days. She was buried at Cedar Hill by the side of her mother, Mrs. Mary Smith, who died February 25, and her little brother, Hoyt, who died February 23, both of influenza. The father is reported as very low with the same dread malady. The funeral service for little Annie was conducted by Rev. B. L. Cook.
