Dennis Lee Klingler, 59, of Norfolk, VA, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023 with his wife by his side. He was born on September 5, 1964, in Lewisburg, PA, to the late Richard C. and Anna Klingler. Dennis was preceded in death by his dear brother, Richard A Klingler.

Dennis served his country with honor and distinction in the US Navy for 4 years. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to a fulfilling career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he retired after 38 years of government service.

Dennis was a mentor to many! He taught his daughter to ice skate, snow ski, fish, hunt, and even change the brakes on her car. He coached her in softball for many years at LCN. She was the joy of his life and biggest accomplishment! He passed his knowledge of home repair on to Garrick who became one of his best buddies.

Hunting and fishing were Dennis's passions, bringing him solace and joy. He treasured the moments spent hunting in PA with his nephews, Roger Jr. and Rick, and his brother-in-law, Roger Ziegler. Dennis also found great pleasure in embarking on hunting trips to Colorado with his cherished friends, Clay and John. Dennis also loved motor-cross racing and went to many races with his brother- in -law Kim and nephew Tyler.

In addition to his hobbies, Dennis was a devoted family man and a true friend to many. He had a warm and welcoming personality that made everyone feel at ease in his presence. He had many good times with his cousins Jane (Greg) and Andy (Terri) who came to visit every year. His loved ones will forever cherish the memories of his sociable nature and the special times they shared together.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Klingler, his daughter, Denise Klingler (Garrick Colorado), and stepson, Joseph McIntosh. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Beachel, Ivy Kline (Kim), and Linda Zeigler (Roger) of PA as well as his sisters-in-law, Sherry Chinn (Jerry) and Vicky McArthur (Shane), nephews Roger Jr., Richard, Michael, and Tyler, nieces Melody, Kimberly, Carla, Erica, and Ashley, great nieces and nephews Rebecca, Andrew, Olivia, Wyatt, Trevor, and Emily who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service to honor and remember Dennis's life will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Norfolk, VA, on Saturday, October 14, at 2pm. Please join the family as they gather to pay their final respects and share cherished memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to "Kids that Fish and Hunt don't Steal and Deal," an organization close to Dennis's heart. Contributions in his memory will continue to support the causes he held dear.
