Rose T. Lashmit, 73, of Petoskey, died June 21, 1987, at Little Traverse Division, Northern Michigan Hospital.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at St. Francis Xavier Church. Rev. Wilbert Hegener,OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery,Petoskey.
Mrs. Lashmit was born Aug. 14, 1913 in Chicago,Ill., the daughter of Matthew and Agnes (Wiklanska) Lechowicz. As a child, she moved to the Lark's Lake area with her family and has resided in the Petoskey area all her life.
She married George Lashmit in January, 1938. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Lashmit was employed at the Perry-Davis Hotel and the Petoskey Steam Laundry for many years. She retired in 1976.
Mrs. Lashmit was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church.
Survivors include; four sons, John of Charlevoix, Elmer and Abe, both of Petoskey and Carl of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, John Lechowicz of Petoskey and Walter Lechowicz of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Sophie Mechalik of Pellston; many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes for that purpose are at Stone Funeral Home where friends may call 7-9 p.m Tuesday. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rose and George also had 3 stillborn children and a son David Thomas b. 04 Sep 1945 d. 10 Jun 1946. All 4 children are all buried in the St Francis Cemetery at Petoskey, Michigan, where my grandmother is buried.
