Gracie was born on September 30, 1946, in Denver, Colorado to Clarence and Juanita (Wasson) Dalton.

She married Roy Dale Manning on May 24, 1975, in Clovis, New Mexico.

Gracie was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her husband and family. She loved being a mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and "great grandma dude". She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading scripture and inspirational pieces. Gracie also enjoyed old western movies and books, crocheting, sewing, gardening, canning, and loved penguins. She was a fantastic baker and made the very best banana bread, brownies, and peanut butter bars. Gracie was a character; she would try to lighten everyone's day with singing or a funny comment. Gracie was the kindest soul, very forgiving, and generous.

Those left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Tamie Van of Hereford, Texas and Sonya Tabares and her husband Frankie of Hereford, Texas; three sons, Jerry Van and his wife Amelia of Hereford, Texas, Wayne Van and his wife Cheryl of Alabama, and David Manning of Amarillo, Texas; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother Gary Dalton and his wife Danita of Strasburg, Colorado; and two sisters, Mary White of Bennett, Colorado, and Carol Whittle and her husband Dave of Loose Creek, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Dale Manning, parents, Clarence and Juanita Dalton, sister Dotty Carr, and two brothers Clarence Dalton, Jr., and Elmer Dalton.
