Michel Jerome Sterling
Michel Jerome Sterling, Sr., retired Dow Chemical Human Resource Manager, entered into eternal rest at the University Medical Center of New Orleans on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 71.
Beloved and cherished son of the late Leon R. Sterling, Sr., and Lucille Mitchell Sterling, he leaves to cherish memories his two children, Michel Jerome Sterling, Jr. (Tonya), and Melissa Ann Sterling; devoted friend, Helene Charlot; and loving sisters, Lucille Sterling, and Maria Stevenson; five wonderful grandchildren Adriana Sterling, Kristy Jupiter, Bernard Jupiter, Isaac Sterling, and Antoine Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tanya Faye Ann Honore Sterling; his father, Leon Sterling, Sr.; his mother, Lucille Mitchell Sterling; five brothers, Leon, Lucien, Charles, Maurice, and Andre; three sisters, Patricia Jones, Joel Ames, and Nona Honore; and two nephews, Conrad Sorapuru, Jr., and Roderick Ames, Jr.
The St. Augustine High School class of 1970, the Xavier University of Louisiana class of 1974, the "breakfast club" at South Shore Grill, relatives, friends of the family, as well as, priests, and parishioners of St. David Catholic Church, are invited to pay respects during his mass of Christian burial at St. David Catholic Church located at 5617 St. Claude Ave., New Orleans, LA; on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Visitation at 9:00 a.m.
Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Mass at 10:00 a.m.
The interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in New Orleans, LA.
The repast is to follow at St. David Community Center located behind the church.
