Effie (Price) Patterson Raney

Effie (Price) Patterson Raney, 102, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

She was born Nov. 4, 1897. She married Joseph Bert Patterson on Aug. 6, 1921, in Somerset, Ky. He preceded her in death in 1951. She later married Tusko Raney. He also preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Robert D., Patrick D. and Joseph Franklin Patterson; three daughters, Josephine Armes, Helen Thorne and Stecil Ferguson; a brother, Delno Price; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of Hope Baptist Church and Westside Community Senior Citizen's Band.

A service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
