History of Maury County, Tennessee by William Turner: "
In 1808, Mrs. Doherty, with her daughter and son-in-law, William Bond, came to Maury County and settled near where Spring Hill now stands; and, in 1809, Thomas B. Bond was born, being one among the first native born Tennesseans near that place. To him we are under many obligations for most of the times connected with the Settlement of Spring Hill, and which were furnished at our request."
