E. G. COMSTOCK, LOCAL REALTOR, DIES in HOME


Elmer G. Comstock, 76, a realtor in Monroe for many years and founder of the Monroe County Board of Realtors, died this morning in his home at 227 Washington St. Mr. Comstock suffered several strokes and had been in poor health since October 1964.


The Monroe County Board of Realtors was founded in 1955 and Mr. Comstock was installed as president.


Before coming to Monroe June 10, 1929, from Toledo, he attended the Toledo School of Real Estate and the School of Appraisal at Michigan State University, and University of Michigan. He operated the Comstock Realty Co. for many years.


Mr. Comstock was born August 3, 1891, in Hillsdale to Edward and Florence (Schrutt) Comstock. He married Jess Ely in Toledo December 23, 1918. She preceded him in death June 27, 1960.


He served during World War I with the Coast Guard.


Mr. Comstock was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carl F. Payson Post 60, American Legion, and the Monroe Lodge 1503, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He also was a member of the Toledo Lodge 144 F and AM.


Mr. Comstock's only survivor is his brother, Al G. Comstock of Euclid, Ohio.


Friends may call after noon tomorrow at the Earle Little Funeral Home where services will be at 1 p. m. Tuesday, The Rev. Paul Markham of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
