Adela, or Nena as her friends knew her best, was the mother of my childhood friends Annette Miranda and Gina. Growing up in the streets of Chicago back than was rough, and Nena knew that, but one thing she did was make sure her children grew up to be good people. The day before Mothers day, Nena, who had suffered from Diabetes and various other health related issues, was rushed to have dialysis. Unfortunately her heart could not take it and she suffered a major heart attack in the process and never regained consiousness. Nena, was a strong person who tried her best to be there for her children and she will be remembered as a strong individual who didn't want flowers and sadness at her wake, she was cremated and a week later a memorial was done for her. This is when we all got together to celebrate her life. She leaves behind 4 daughters and a son, who due to being incarcerated was not able to attend, but was there in spirit. When her son is released from Prison they will make arrangements to take her remains and scatter them on top of her own mothers grave site located in Texas.
