Dale Eugene Adamson, 77, the son of Hugh McKinley Adamson and Annie Emyra Wright, was born Feb. 19, 1919, one and one half miles southeast of Nelson. He died Thursday at the Good Samaritan Center, Nelson.
A graduate from Nelson High School, he attended one year of college at the University of Nebraska.
He was a member of the United States Army from Feb. 5,1943, until Dec. 20, 1945. Most of his service time was in the European theatre and included action in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion posts and a member of Nelson community (sic) United Church of Christ. He had served as post commander of the Nelson VFW, district commander of VFW, president of the Nuckolls County Fair Board and as Nuckolls County Service Officer.
He was married on Oct. 20, 1946, in Peru, Neb., to Marjorie Clare Becker. They raised their five children on their farm five miles northeast of Nelson.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. William Fuller (Nancy), Mableton, Ga.; Mrs. Cliff Sutherland (Beverly), Omaha; Mrs. Mike Wenig (Sharon), Kearney; and Janet Adamson, Lincoln, Nebr.; one son, Dean Adamson, York; two grandchildren and step-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Grummert (Halle) and Mrs. Newell Wilhelms (Helen), all of Superior; two brothers, Earl Adamson, Nelson, and Joseph Adamson, Lincoln.
Services were held Saturday from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ with the Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery with full military rites given by the VFW and American Legion posts of Nelson.
Klawitter-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
