Eldred Ruben Anderson, age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Eldred was born on October 14, 1926 to George Anderson and Amanda (Heichel) Anderson in Nye, Wisconsin.

Eldred is survived by his children, George (LeAnne) Anderson, Randy (JoAnne) Anderson, Darlene (Allen) Moe, Sherri Anderson, Deborah (Mark) Nelson, Rod (Kathy) Anderson, and Dean (Diana) Anderson; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Anderson, and Arland Anderson.

Eldred is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Millie; son, Rick Anderson; brothers, Eugene, and Laverne Anderson.

Eldred was always ready for great adventures: hunting, fishing, travel, and just helping others. On June 30, 1943, at the young age of 16 his dad signed a permission document to be an employee of the Dexter Horton General Contractors based in Seattle, Washington. The company sent him to Alaska to work on the Alaska Canada Military Highway Project. At that time, it was one of our countries most important war jobs. Alaska was rugged with some hardships and inconveniences, but he said they treated him well. He had a feeling of great pride for such an important task.

Eldred left Alaska and returned home on October 28, 1944. He enlisted in the US Navy which he spent mostly in the South Pacific before being honorably discharged on June 15, 1946. On September 30, 1947 Eldred was united in marriage to Mildred Burch at Bethesda Lutheran Parsonage. This marriage was blessed with eight children.

Eldred was a man of many hats: his main career was trucking which took him all over the country making him "King of the Road". He became a farmer because of his love for land and animals.

The most precious things to his heart were God, Millie, and Family.
