BERT G. ANDERSON - Passed away at Stamford Hospital on Feb. 11, 2007. Bert Anderson was born in Frandefors Sweden on Aug. 22, 1922. He came to America in 1928. He lived in Pound Ridge, N.Y. for fifty one years.
He worked for Conde-Nast Publications for eighteen years. Bert also worked many years as a Projectionist and Manager at the Stamford Avon Theaters which was his passion, then later on moving to the State Cinema where he later retired. After retirement he worked as a volunteer for PAWS in Norwalk, CT, in which he had a great passion for animals.
Bert was predeceased by his parents, Adelia and Gustav Anderson, his wife Emily, daughter Kathleen, his sister Ruth Emmert and his niece Ruthann. He is survived by his son Richard Anderson, and his wife Karen, a sister Helen Walding, and two grandchildren Sherie and Richard Anderson along with several nieces and nephews. Bert Anderson was a great and generous person with all. We will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 4-8pm at the Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. Services are scheduled for 10:30am Thursday at the funeral home, with interment following at the Long Ridge Union Cemetery.
