1st Lt. Jeff DePrimo of Pittston, Pennsylvania was a 1991 Seton Catholic High School graduate. An honors student during college, He was a cum laude music performance graduate from Marywood University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in music Jeff attended Marywood University on a Pope and Talbot Scholarship. He was an accomplished classical guitarist, composing, performing and producing his original music while performing with area bands. He graduated from basic military training in 2003 and completed officer candidate school in 2005. A reconditioning technician at Barber Ford, Exeter, Pa., he was serving as the security force platoon leader for a PRT near Ghazni and had been commander of the lead convoy vehicle during the attack. He was killed from an explosion while serving in the military in Afghanistan at age 35. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and Combat Action Badge. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Joseph Gitkos and Frank DePrimo; grandmother, Sally DePrimo; and uncle, Joseph Gitkos.
