"BOGHT CORNERS - Lorna E. Reamer, 78, a long-time resident of Boght Corners, passed away at Albany Medical Center after a long illness on Thursday, July 20, 2023, with her husband by her side. She was born in Cohoes, raised in Halfmoon, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn VanDerwerken. She graduated from Shenendehowa High School and Albany Business College. Lorna started working for General Electric Silicone in Waterford and Gravely Tractors in Latham before her retirement from the N.Y.S. Assembly in Albany as a deputy journal clerk from 1970-2007. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Star Liberty Chapter in Mechanicville, a former member of the Boght Reformed Church for many years, and the former president of the Automobile Club of Upper Hudson Valley from 2007 to 2017, receiving the Lescault Cup Award in 2007. She loved to spend vacations in Maine and, in 2010, spent 10 days in Nova Scotia. She was an avid cook and loved her animals. Lorna was married in the Shenendehowa Methodist Church 53 years ago to Clarence 'Tooter' Reamer of Boght Corners. She was the sister of the late Thomas VanDerwerken, Meredith VanDerwerken, and Lila DeVoe. She is survived by her godson, Jay Dahoda; her nieces and nephew, Dawn (Paul) Loucas, Lori (Frank) Murray, Susan Clarke, Mark Reamer and Tammy Gailor, and other nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia St., Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating.
