"BALLSTON SPA --- Funeral services for James W. Goldfoot, 16, of Route 9, Round Lake, who was pro[no]unced dead at Saratoga Hospital after he was struck by a car on Route 93, Wednesday at 6:45 p.m., will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Round Lake Methodist Church. The Rev. W. Ray Deming, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. The Morris Funeral Home will be open after 1 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Malta Ambulance Corps. According to the accident report, the youth was a passenger in a car that had struck a dog on Route 9 and when he got out of the car to check on the injured animal, he was struck by a car operated by Herman D. Green, 53, of 84 Willett St., Albany. County Coroner Donald Clark attributed death to a fractured neck and multiple injuries. The Clifton Park Rescue Squad Ambulance transported the youth to the hospital. No charges were placed against Green. Investigating were Chief Deputy William H. Connor, Sgt. G. L. Brunnell and Deputy Sheriffs Frank Galerie and Britt Thompson of the Saratoga County Sheriffs Department. * * * The victim was a 10th Grade student at Shenendehowa High School where he was a member of the junior varsity football team. He was a member of the Round Lake Volunteer Hose Company, the Old Saratoga Muzzle Loading Club and the Ticonderoga Muzzle Loading Club. He was a life-long resident of Round Lake and was born Feb. 2, 1955, in Ballston Spa. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Crowley Goldfoot; three sisters, Rhonda, Laura and Roxanne Goldfoot, all at home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Chester Goldfoot; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Smith of Fonda; his maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Roland Morris of Saugus, Calif., and aunts, uncles and cousins."
