Verna E. Bland, 86, of Port Huron, Michigan passed away on May 18, 2008 in the Evangelical Home.
She was born June 6, 1921 in Sandusky, to the late Fred and Elsie Elliott. She married Chester E. Bland on July 27, 1940 in Port Huron. He died January 3, 1989.
Mrs. Bland was survived by two sons, Lawrence R. (Marlene) Bland of Port Huron and Wayne L. (Karry) Bland of Fort Gratiot; four grandchildren, Kelley (Dennis) Kivel, Holly Hecker, Leeann J. Bland and Richard Bland; four great-grandchildren, Lee Kivel, Dylan Hecker, Lainie Kivel and Brenna Bland; a brother, Fred Elliott, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Bland, and a great granddaughter, Lindsay Kivel.
Memorial service: First Church of the Nazarene; the Reverend Keith Sparks officiated.
