Barbara Ann Hockinson passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 after a short illness. It was her 70th birthday. Her family, her garden, her pets and all animals were her passion. Everyone who came to Barb's home was warmly welcomed and usually fedæa lot. She was never known to run out of great home cooked food and genuine hospitality.

Barbara was born to Dorothy and Walter Esterby on October 1, 1933 in Bemidji Minnesota; home of Paul Bunyan and his great blue ox.

Her family moved to Wenatchee in 1949. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in Spokane in 1951, and a business college also in Spokane. Returning to Wenatchee, she worked at Alcoa, and Meadowsweet Dairy.

Barbara was a bookkeeper at Community Savings and Loan from 1962 to 1968, and at Columbia Federal Savings and Loan from 1968 to 1988. She worked at GG Richardson Inc. from 1988 to her retirement in 1999.

She married Richard Cunningham in 1953. Barbara brought three children into the world: Kathleen in 1954, Cynthia in 1957, and Joseph in 1964.

Her children remember her as a Mom who could throw together a family drive or fishing trip on a moments notice. She loved nature and outdoor activities such as fishing, clamming, boating, and waterskiing.

She married Donald Hockinson in 1992, and they enjoyed traveling, golfing, and collecting art together. Barbara was a member of Soroptimist international, Gyro international, the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club. She was a girl scout troop leader for her daughters. For a few years she was a successful breeder of show-quality Chinese Pugs.

She is greatly missed by her loving husband, Donald Hockinson in Wenatchee, her Daughters, Cynthia Brown, Wenatchee; Kathleen Cunningham, Vancouver WA; and Joseph Cunningham, Yakima; one sister Doris Pulsipher, of Wenatchee; two stepsons; Michael Hockinson of Portland, and Patrick Hockinson of San Antonio.
