My paternal grandma, Ada Hiatt Moffitt was born to Ira K. and Sarah Mullen Hiatt at their farm 2 1/2 miles southeast of Darlington, Indiana.
The family moved into town when Ada was a child. She attended Darlington schools and was graduated from Darlington High School in 1907. In 1909 she married Emery Moffitt.
Emery and Ada moved to Chesterton, Indiana in 1941. After his death in 1944, Ada returned to Darlington and lived in their family home. She was employed at the R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company in Crawfordsville until she became ill seven months before her death.
Ada & Emery had one son, Ned Moffitt and three granddaughters.
