Betty Lou Funkhouser Gentry, 76, of Florahome, Fla. passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Haven Hospice-Roberts Care Center. Mrs. Gentry was a retired supervisor for General Electric Battery and a former Lions Club member. Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her parents, Rodd Funkhouser and Myrna Tabler Funkhouser, and brother, Floyd Funkhouser.--She is survived by her husband, Jerry E. Gentry Sr.; three sons, Jerry (Sandra) Gentry Jr. of Florahome, Mark Allen (Cathy) Gentry of High Springs, Fla., and Randy Lee Gentry of Florahome; three daughters, Victoria Lynn (Gary) Gentry Hodge of High Springs, Phyllis Jean (Richard) Willis of Alachua, Fla.; three brothers, Eugene (Arlene) Funkhouser of Alachua, Dennis Funkhouser of Alachua, and Robert (Rita) Funkhouser of Alachua. Nineteen grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.--Funeral services were held at Grace & Praise Ministries, 15880 S. U.S. Hwy. 441, Lake City, Fla. 32024, on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Cook officiating. Burial followed at High Springs Cemetery. The family received friends on Friday, May 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home.--Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N. Main Street, High Springs, Fla. 32643 to help the family with expenses.
