The remains of Miss Emma Lou Giffin arrived here yesterday from Spokane Washington, where she died Feb 13th (sic) from peritonitis at the age of 21 years. Her parents are Dr. and Mrs. William M. Giffin of Chicago, natives of Heuvelton. She was studying to be a singer and was on her way to San Francisco for that purpose when she became ill. The remains were taken to the home of her cousin, Charles O. Bailey, 27 Rensselaer avenue. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. L. Sanford this morning at 9:30 o'clock and the remains were taken to Heuvelton on the 10 o'clock train.
