Joe was an accomplished accordianist and band-leader of "Jolly Joe and the Bavarians." He was a WWII veteran and played as a preshow (and even rode in the airplanes with) such greats as Bob Hope and Danny Kaye. Joe had Mickie Rooney as his army bunkmate for one night.
