SHERMAN--Funeral services for Melba L. Bigbee. 68. of Sherman, who died April 25, 1995, at Wilson N. Jones, will be held at 2 p.m. /Thursday at East Sherman Baptist Church. The Rev. Thomas Beall will officiate. Burial will be in the Gober Cemetery southeast of Bonham. Arrangements are under the direction of Walde Funeral Home. Mrs. Bigbee was born Oct 5, 1926, in Gober, the daughter of Gaines Avis Wheeler and Myrtle Carpenter Wheeler. She graduated from Gober High School in 1944. She worked for Bonham Herald newspaper from 1945 to 1946, and was retired from Texas Laundry, where she worked from 1965 to 1979. She was a member of East Sherman Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Joe Bigbee of Ravenna; a daughter , Susan Simms of Denison; two sisters, Gladys Anderson of Ector and Jeanette Smith of Irving,; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be nephews, The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the Edward and Susan Simms residence in Denison.
