MOS:11B4P Infantryman (Airborne Qual.)
When he arrived in Vietnam 30 May 1967 Dan
was assigned to D Company,1st Battalion,
503rd Infantry,173rd Airborne Brigade,USARV.
The company was participating in Operation
Mac Arthur when they encountered hostile
forces in the vicinity of Hill 823,11 kilometers
south southwest of Ben Het.
Dan died during the fire fights as a result of
multiple fragmentation wounds to the body
and his body was recovered and identified 16
November 1967.
Sgt Allen served his country for 2 years.
Survived by his wife,Georgia B Allen of 733 N
Montgomery Ave and his parents,Mr & Mrs
Dan S Allen Jr of 786 N Montgomery Ave all
of Memphis,TN.
