David D. Coblentz, 38, of 969 14th t, Marion, formerly of Central City, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from complications of heart bypass surgery. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Mario, by the Rev. Linda Livingston. Friends may all at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his fiancee Kelly Cuhel and her two children, Adam and Macey of Marion; his parents, Danny and Joyce Coblentz of Marion; a brother, Tim and wife Tanya of Shellsburg; a sister, Selina Brandt and fiance, Bill Huckins of Cedar Rapids; his paternal grandmother Geri Coblentz of Tiffin; four nephews, Brad Coblentz and wife Donna of Marion, Tony Brandt of Cedar Rapids and Trey and Tate Coblentz of Shellsburg; a niece, Kristy Henderson of Cedar Rapids; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Chauncey.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a cousin, Kelly Corum; and his dog, Shelby.
David was born the son of Danny and Joyce Henderson Coblentz on May 29, 1962, in Iowa City, and was baptized into the Methodist faith. He worked as a claims processor for Nordstrom.com. David ws an avid sports fan. He was especially interested in music and played the bass guitar.
