Margery A Apple
Services will be at 2 pm , Thursday at the Thomas E Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, for Margery A Apple, 80. She died at 4am Monday at her residence.
She was born Dec 1, 1912, in Shawnee Township, Allen County to Charles H and Consuella Day Coon. On Oct 9, 1940, she married Dolph H Apple, who survives.
Mrs Apple had been employed by the former S.S. Kresge Store in Lima and later at the Lima Tank Depot during World War II. She was a member of the former Helsel United Methodist Church and attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lima. She was a 1931 graduate of Shawnee High School.
Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs C (J.) Ditto of Elida; a sister, Mrs. J I Umbaught of Spencerville; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Homer D Coon, Harley Coon, Isaac N Coon and infant Dewey D Coon; and five sisters, Gaynell B Kraft, Mildred I Crites, Lodema I Standley and infants, Mattie L Coon and Ruth E Coon.
Rev Donald E Nichols will officate for the services. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, east of Spencerville.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St Rita's Hospice Program.
