Her husband was Myron Mitchell. They had two daughters. I'm sorry, I don't remember their names.
Mary Catherine was a no-nonsense teacher, but I think her students knew, behind that stern personality, was a warm humorous woman whose unfaultering intention was to instill a bit of history into our everwandering minds.
My fondest memory of her was one of the many days, when Mike Sanderfur, also class of 1960, was being his comedic self. After one of Mike's outbursts, Mrs. Mitchell turned to him and said,"Mike, will you please contain yourself". That comment gave Mike all the comedy material he needed for the rest of the school year.
God bless her, she was a wonderful woman. I think we all loved her. I'm sure she in resting with the Angels in Heaven. ) - bio by Respectfully, Linda Jones Everett 27106702
