Walter was born in Atlantic City and was a lifelong resident of Mullica Township. He graduated from Oakcrest High School in 1977 and also from Pennco Tech for Marine Mechanics. He worked for Lenox China for 21 years. He was an avid hunter-fisherman and was a member of the Nesco All Around Sportsman's Club. He was a talented percussionist and played drums in various local bands, including Crosswind at Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a member. He coached girl's basketball and softball for Mullica Township. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laurie Haden of Sweetwater; his daughters: Lori Haden and Stacy Haden of Sweetwater; his parents, A. Joseph & Mary Ann Haden , of Mullica Township; his brother, Joseph Haden and his wife, Josephine of Hammonton; and his former sister-in-law, Teala Haden ; also many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. A viewing was held on Monday, July 28, 2003 at Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ with funeral services held at Zion Lutheran Church, 312 Philadelphia Avenue, Egg Harbor City.
