Erick was born on Dec. 22, 1939, in Ballinger to Olene and Roland Boyd. He resided in White Settlement and graduated from Brewer High School in 1958. He moved to Lake Granbury in 1994 and had lived there with his wife until his death.
Erick married Patsy Dyess Boyd in 1960 and they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Together they raised two sons. He enjoyed working and traveling with his loving wife, Pat, and spending quality time with his sons and grandchildren.
Erick had been self-employed since 1990 as a manufacturer's representative to the woodworking industry. He was an member of White Settlement Masonic Lodge 1372, serving as past master from 1984-1985. He was also past monarch of the El Texa Grotto MOVPER. He served as president of the Moslah Shrine Drum & Bugle Corps and was a member of the Lake Granbury Area Shrine Club and a member of Granbury First United Methodist Church.
Erick enjoyed golfing with his wife and friends. He loved all types of music, was an avid reader, a magician, a photographer, an enthusiastic crossword and Sudoku player and a competitive board game player.
Erick was preceded in death by his father, Roland; mother, Olene; son, Bradley; and brother, Brian.
Survivors: Wife, Patsy Dyess Boyd of Granbury; son, Robert Wade Boyd and wife, Deanna of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Cpl. Scott Boyd, USMC, Cherry Point, N.C, Mitchell Boyd of St. Paul, Minn., Erin and Ethan Boyd of Fort Worth; brothers, Jerry, Lynn, Dan Watson, Randy, Carl, Tommy, Eddie Boyd; sister, Patsy Copeland; and uncle, Foy Watson.
