John F. Boory, former resident of Wellington, passed away this morning at 9 o'clock at the Hatcher Hospital.

He took ill last Wednesday while in route from his home in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Wellington. He had been ill with the flu for about a week and complications were reported to have set in. He was admitted to the hospital last Friday night.

He was reared in Sumner County, living for a number of years a mile west of Rome. He was a graduate of the Sumner County High School. During his time in Wellington he served two terms as county treasurer and was deputy for several years to T.A. Hubbard.

He had been a resident of Carnegie, Oklahoma for about twenty years, for fifteen years owning an electric power plant there. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and Odd Fellows. During his time in Wellington he was very active in the Presbyterian Church. After moving to Carnegie he joined the Methodist Church where he taught a Sunday School Class. During recent years his interest have all been in southern Texas.

Surviving are his wife, Elsie Miller Boory, and a thirteen year old son John; 2 brothers, Will and Luther and one sister Mrs. D.N. McClain.
