Daniel F. Hoy, 69, a retired farmer and resident here for 23 years, died this noon at his home, 18 Arthur Avenue.

He was born November 20, 1876,in Millersburg Pennsylvania, the son of Christian Alfred and Catherine (Freymoyer)Hoy.

Mr.Hoy was a member of the North Presbyterian Church, Cortlandville Grange, the Moose Lodge of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Modern Woodmen of America.

On December 19, 1896, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Miss Sarah Kissinger.To this union 4 children were born. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter, Verna.

Surviving besides his wife Sarah, are a daughter, Mrs Milton (Martha) Totman, of Cortland; two sons, Alfred E. Hoy and wife Ocie, of Clyde, and Marion K. Hoy and wife Delta, of Cortland; two sisters, Mrs. James Baer and Mrs. Roy Heinbaugh of Millersburg,Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 from the North Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the Beard Memorial Home Sunday afternoon, between 3 and 4.
