Louise Agnes Knowles Smith, age 78, of Fort McCoy, Florida died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 9 59 A.M. at VFW Retirement Home, Fort McCoy from heart failure.
She was born April 27, 1930 to the parents of Daniel Ira & Estelle V. Roberts Knowles in Loughman, Florida.
She resided and worked most of her life in Central Florida. She is a Past City Manager of Polk City, former restaurant owner and well known as an excellent cook and was a self-employed Bookkeeper. She is of the Baptist faith. She was a member of The Lions Club of Polk City and also VFW-Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Harmon Smith of Fort McCoy, FL; 3 sons John Adams of Polk City, Daniel Adams of Dover, FL, Darryl Smith of Polk City; 1 daughter, Vivian Adams Walker of Polk City, FL; 1 step-son, H.L. Smith, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; 2 step-daughters Patricia Casey of Denham Springs, LA, Virginia Smith of Walker, LA; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Lura Knowles of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Warren James Adams, David Smith; 1 daughter, Susan Smith; 1 brother, James Knowles and 1 sister, Kathryn Swallows.
