Final services were held on Monday, May 5, 1997 at Bethel AME Church, with Pastor Norman V. Osborne officiating. The daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Richard Wynn, she moved to Detroit in 1941. She joined Bethel AME in 1953 and was an active member until her health failed. During her 44-year membership, she served as a member of the December Birthmonth Club, Detroit Housewives League, Nellie Pierce Club and Precious Coin Club. She was a life member of Central State University Mothers Association's Michigan Chapter. Mrs. Collins was survived by her husband, Samuel; son, Thomas Love; two sisters, Erna Tilman and Ruth Stodghill; niece, Willie Mae Price; five grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and many other relatives. Handling arrangements were the O.H. Pye Funeral Home.
