Christine Atkins Pitts, 82, Clarksville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 26, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman and the Rev. Emmett Sexton officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 11, 1925, in Stewart County, daughter of Alfred Atkins and Bessie Lehman Atkins.
Christine was a loving Mother, Grandmother and a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 46 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Pitts. She is survived by a son, Wayne (Susan) Pitts of Gilroy, Calif.; daughters, Marie (Skip) Winters of Waverly and Lynne (Kurt) Wilson of Clarksville; brother, Dorris Atkins of Clarksville; sister, Evelyn Fain of Palmyra; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Paul Hughes, John Winters, Nick Lowery, Jimmy Fain, Keith Fain and Terry Fain.
