"Served in the Confederate States Army as a Private. He enlisted on March 15, 1862 at Marion, Alabama in Capt. Howze's Company, Wyatt Guards attached to the 2nd regiment Alabama Volunteer Militia. This company subsequently became Company C, 4th Regiment Alabama Volunteer Militia.

He (married) Mary A. Woodfin on February 08, 1853 in Marengo County, Alabama.

Ludy left Anderson District, SC sometime before 1850, along with his brother, William Rosamond Wyatt to join his uncle's family (William Newton Wyatt, brother of his father)."
