Longtime Brown County resident Cindy Kay Campbell died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. A resident of Morgantown Health Care for the past several years, she was 52.

Born February 23, 1950, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Curtis W. and Valentina I. (Petro) Campbell. Her mother survives and her father preceded her in death in 1979.

Ms. Campbell was employed at Developmental Services Incorporated in Columbus during the 1990s and at The Opportunity Center there during the 1970s and early 1980s. She also had worked in the family tobacco fields in the Gatesville area.

She attended Brown County High School and Neighborhood Church of God in Brown County.

Other survivors include sisters, Mary F. Wagers of Brown County and Tammy E. Cravens of North Vernon; brothers, Steve M. Campbell and Danny C. Campbell, both of Brown County; and several nieces and nephews.

The Reverend Sam Harrington conducted a graveside service Saturday, August 3, at Goshen Cemetery in Brown County.
