Bessie Lee Rumph, 89, of Charleston, died Monday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in McAlister's Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Rumph Family Cemetery in Dorchester County.
Mrs. Rumph was born in Pregnall, a daughter of Marion G. Rumph and Mary Byrd Rumph. She was a member of Asbury Memorial Methodist Church. She was the widow of Harry L. Rumph.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Harefield and Ernestine James, both of Charleston, and Anne Walters of North Tonowanda, N.Y.; a son, Harry L. Rumph Jr. of Charleston; and 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
