Dewey J. Bales, 93, of Windsor died 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 3, 1993) in his residence in Windsor. He married Estella Beals on Sept. 23, 1917 in Effingham, IL. She died in 1919.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Mr. Bales was born Sept. 20, 1899, in Stewardson, the son of George Solomon and Hattie Ellen Webb Bales. He was a retired water well driller, a charter member and lifetime member of the Warrensburg Sportsman's Club and a member of the Boiling Springs Church of God. He married Lillie Faye Edwards in Windsor, IL, in 1922. She preceded him in death in 1966. He married Rita Kathryn Hamilton in 1970.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Judy Christerson of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Mike Long, Penny Wilson, Robin Craycraft and Winnie Christerson; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Frank, three brothers and five sisters.
