My granny was a kind woman with a streak of independence.
she was a gifted seamstress, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a student of the Bible, my mom said she knew it as well if not more than most preachers.
She was a widow for many years before marrying again to a childhood friend. Sadly he died a few short years later.
She lived alone for many years. When she decided she needed more assistance with her day to day living she chose to go into a nursing home. All of her children would have welcomed them into their homes but she refused. She stayed active up until the end. She brought her sewing talents to the home with her, teaching others in the home the art of sewing.
My Granny was loved and respected by all who knew her.
