Zada is the daughter of Joseph Henry and Ethel Florence Thompson Davis. She married Herman Nottelmann on August 17, 1938. They had three children: Mrs. Joe (Nancy Jane) Koger, Mrs. Erick (Janet Ann) Stottrup and Herman Richard Nottelmann.

Mrs. Herman (Zada Ethel Davis) Nottelmann, 66, of Warrensburg died 3:05 p.m. Friday (April 22, 1983) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. Memorials: United Methodist Church, Warrensburg.
Mrs. Nottelmann was born in Macon County, daughter of Joseph Henry and Florence Ethel Davis. She was a member of Warrensburg United Methodist Church. She married Herman Nottelmann in 1938. He died in 1978.
Surviving are her son, Richard of Warrensburg; daughters, Mrs. Erik (Janet) Stottrup of Warrensburg; Mrs. Joe (Nancy) Koger of Rochester, Mich.; foster parents, Alvie and Bessie Harmon; brothers, Carl Harmon of Richmond. Ind.; Melvin Davis of Alta Loma, Calif. ; Bob Davis of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Mrs. Merit (Delia) McKinley of Monticello; Mrs. Rex (Zella) Rau of Farmer City ; Pauline Bechtold of Tucson," Ariz.; five grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
