Osborne Romeo Rumph, son of John Jacob and Ida Henrietta Rumph, was a mechanic who moved from Charleston area to Asheville, N.C. where he owned his own business. We think his wife was the sister of Ada V. Siegler Rumph, wife of his brother, Augustus (Gus) Rumph. Her name was "Hat" perhaps short for Harriet. If anyone has information on her, please let me know. I do have a family genealogy book but it's in storage at the moment, but I will look it up when I can......

Osborne had two sons, Albert Rumph and Romeo Rumph, who were both career Army personnel. Romeo was a full colonel who retired from the Pentagon and lived in Arlington. He's buried at Arlington Cemetery.

Albert moved to Georgia, we believe, after retirement.

Osborne died at age 40, unfortunately, and his wife went to live in or near Arlington, Virginia, so far as we know. We will check this out when we can.

His siblings were Twin Rumph Children b. and died 1886, Augustus Eden Rumph, A. Sidney Rumph, Lessie Claire Rumph Skinner, Josephine Rumph (died early), Harry Legare Rumph Sr, Earnesteen Rumph (died early), John W. Rumph (died early) and Wilton Stanley Rumph, the youngest born 1908.

If any of his direct descendants come along who desire transfer, I will be happy to transfer the care of this site.
