"OLLIE I. PHYE
Ollie I. Phye of Canon City died Jan. 17, 1988 at St. Thomas More Hospital. She was born April 18, 1897 in Dennison, Texas to Lewis W. and Nora Rosella (McCrory) Schornherst. She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Phye was a homemaker and a charter member of the Eagles Aerie 2123. She moved to Canon City in 1904 as a young girl and was raised and educated here. Her hobbies included crocheting and enjoying her children, gandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Phye married LeRoy W. Phye Sept. 25, 1919 in Pueblo. He preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by a son: Elton C. 'Piper" (Shirley) Phye of Canon City; grandchildren: Karren (Bill) Budd of Canon City; Dennis Roman of Canon City; Shirley (Carl) Meigs of Canon City; Dean Bradburn of Carson City; five great-grandchildren; aunt: Helen Faye Trentham of Sacramento, Calif. A daughter, Elva Pauline Roman preceded her is death in 1951. One brother also preceded her in death.
Graveside services and interment, Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m., Lakeside Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Kinyon officiating. Eagles Auxiliary committal follows. Family and friends wishing to attend the service are to meet at Wilson Almont chapel at 11 a.m. Please omit food and flowers. Contributions may be made to St. Thomas More hospice through Wilson Almont Funeral Home."
